This was a FUN movie! The story is simple; when book editor Margaret faces deportation to Canada, she quickly declares that she's actually engaged to her assistant Andrew. He agrees to go along with this lie in return for a promotion. To convince the immigration officer that their relationship is genuine, the couple goes to Alaska to meet Andrew's family. There, things get more complex.. and, funny! ;)
Sandra Bullock (Margaret), Ryan Reynolds (Andrew) and Betty White (Grandma Annie) are perfect for their roles; their comic timing is great! There are some gorgeous scenery to look at, not to mention two beautiful leads..
Of course, the movie is not without flaws.. There are some really silly scenes; like the one involving an eagle and a dog, another with Grandma Annie doing some Native Indian dance, and another dance scene featuring a male stripper... They seem to be forced into the storyline to get more laughs.. But, you know what, ignore me because I am just nit-picking.. The rest of the movie, and the top-notch actors more than make up for the silly bits!
Just watch the trailer, sooner or later you'll want to watch it yourself!
This one gets an 8/10 from me!
